[applause] brian lamb: to our television audience around the country, this is the united states senate youth program, underwritten by the hearst foundation. you folks have been in town for a week. there are 104 of you in this room. two of you from each state and a couple from the territories and , and we are talking about your experiences this week. the last -- we have about 20 minutes. the last part of this, i would like to get some of you in the room to talk about who has most influenced you in your own life. it could be a teacher, parent, somebody you know, fellow student, and i'm looking for new faces, and i will start right here. what is your name and where are you from? julian rockwell and i am from maine. brian lamb: who do you most look up to? julian my mother. : when i was born she was a teen parent and a mom and she took time in her life to raise me as an independent woman, and i value everything she taught me in letting me make my own ideas. about what i actually think. i was raised in a home with both a democrat and a republican. i was given the opportunity to go to church or not. i was
