a knife-weilding suspect went on a stabbing spree at a central california univeristy. the suspect stabbed four people on the campus of univeristy of california, merced yesterday morning. the four victims were transported to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. the suspect was shot and killed by police. veteran illinois police lieutenant joe gliniewicz's wife and son are under investigation in the wake of news that the officers death is believed to have been a suicide. melodie and d.j. gliniewicz have not been charged with any crime. investigators into the officer's september 1st death called it a "carefully staged suicide." officials said gliniewicz faked his own murder to help conceal "extensive criminal acts, including stealing and laundering money from a police program for young people. the officer's family released a statement, just hours after the official announcement .... saying that the day was another of "deep sorrow" and that the family was cooperating with the investigation and would not comment at this time. the search for survivors went on overnig
