it's difficult at public universities and this is why i said not only do we need college and universityators but also need elected officials to get involved in producing new laws that are going to speak to this because of right of association laws so i don't think that it is something that is beyond the pale. i understand i'm the minority in making that argument, certainly not making any friends from famu or band members or black greek organizations and i don't care. what are we going to do to preserve the lives of our students and universities throughout the country? that's more important than the preservation of a greek system or a band, and i really do wonder with folks who pivot and argue for these organizations and processes, what would they do and what would they say and how would they feel if they got a phone call at 3:00 in the morning saying that their son or their daughter had been beat on it death in one of these organizations? i think the argument would be very different. >> it's fascinating, prover ricky jones i appreciate you being on again, thank you. >> thank you. >>> br

should the university -- cot university have done more?he case, not having seen all the facts for this case, but i know that there has been a program in place at that university like most universities to do some extensive training and education for students who are interested in joining the fraternities or sororities and well as the band and they have done training at florida a&m in terms of educating the students in terms of that. i think there is a lot of second-guessing what do we do. i've been having conversations with people how do we go forward, ramp up not only education, but in terms of the sanctions. i'm a proponent of maybe states need to get rid of hazing laws as whole and start treating everybody as assault, battery, manslaughter to give it a little bit more substance for people to say this is a serious crime and it is not just oh, boys being boys, horsing around that kind of thing. so maybe we need to look at the laws differently. >> i'm sorry, we've clearly run out of time but you also mentioned, as well, that this is -- you

very, very emotional scene here on university boulevard.o send it back to you in the studio, monica. >> thank you so much for that information, jessica. and if you can see behind jessica on the westbound side of university boulevard, all lanes were reopened about 40 minutes ago. on the eastbound side, lanes remain blocked here in silver spring inside the beltway. choose your alternate route. one suggestion for you is wayne avenue to the sligo creek parkway. of course, you can use colesville road instead. if you're traveling on the beltway, there no issues passing university boulevard on the inner and outer loops of the beltway. here's what it looks like if you're planning to head on to 66. no problems to report coming in from gainesville and centreville right over to the beltway. we're looking good as well. now on the beltway, there had been a crash on the outer loop near the dulles toll road. virginia state police were on the scene of that. traffic is doing well across the american legion bridge and into virginia. coming up in my next repo
