now let's get annie mccormick in university city, good morning. >> reporter: you left out ice cream and chocolate, a few staples i have in my house whenever it snows. looking live at the schuylkill expressway this is the first time in the city we're seeing snow, it started with rain and icy snow and slush, now we're seeing big flakes as people are heading out to work. a lot of them taking their time on the schuylkill expressway. this is overnight when the precipitation started overnight, like we said it was rain and sleet. penndot has been ahead of this, as they usually are. they had 180 trucks out overnight putting brining solution on the roads making sure the snow and ice doesn't stick. they have plow trucks out today in case any accumulation happens or slush happens they will move the snow off the road. we talked to a number of drivers today to see what they think about it, here's what some had to say. what do you think? >>> i think i'm tired of it. >> reporter: are you seeing snow or rain? >>> i'm seeing snow right now. >>> i love it, it's beautiful. i love the snow. >> reporter: ar

. >>> let's get back to the breaking news we brought you a few minutes ago out of university city. there was a crash involving a fire truck. mark becker just got to the scene. what can you tell us at this point? >> a couple things. let's start with this. we're told one person was taken to the hospital. we don't believe they had life- threatening injuries. but when you look at what's happened here that's surprising. we're told this fire truck, ladder 40 was on its way westbound on wt harris right here. when it was running emergency traffic. that's to say with lights and sirens going. it came up behind two cars that stopped in the left lane. that white pickup truck there we're told that the driver of the pickup truck stopped at which time it was hit by ladder 40 here. the big fire truck. then the white pickup truck hit the brown suv that's up in front of the fire truck now and is in a little less severe shape than that pickup truck. we're told the driver of the pickup truck was take on the the hospital. they expect him to be okay. the fire department has their risk management people
