of participation. we've increased research and established these at hbcu's, precision, nutrition at southern university and looking at the possibility of a veterinarian school the eastern shore of maryland so, there are, i think, a lot of exciting opportunities for us to continue investing. we have obviously need a budget and we need a farm bill to be able to continue. >> thank you very much. as a proud hbcu graduate, 1890, 40 year professor at hbcu, mr. chairman, i yield back. >> recognize the gentleman from iowa for five minutes of questioning. >> thank you, mr. chairman. thank you, mr. secretary, for being here. and you and i have a lot of commonalties. >> i want to talk about iowa what i'm hearing. i was talking to 250 pork producers on friday evening and i'm hearing this all over and you know, the first question that was talked about from our chairman was prop 12, and my question is what are you hearing from our trading partners like canada and other trading partners? is the usda concerned about trade disputes through this. >> it's been raised in our canadian ministers, they want to have clarity and how we're responding to this. obviously we're in the relatively early phases of all
