police say officers did not fire back. that gunman was arrested about two hours after the incident. >>> and students at university of california are bracing themselves for another round of tuition hikes. uc president is proposing an 8% tuition increase. that amounts to an extra $822 for undergrads. he's also proposing to raise the retirement age from 60 to 65 for future uc employees. he says the changes are need today close a $1 billion budget shortfall. the board of regents will vote on this plan next week. some students are already organizing a protest to coincide with that vote. >>> and the cal state system is also considering raising tuition. it's trustees will meet this wednesday. they'll vote on two proposed increases. one would boost tuition by $105 for the second half. the other increase tuition by an additional $440 the next school year. if both are approved, tuition for cal state undergrads would be almost $4900 a year starting next fall. >>> a uc berkeley student will learn tonight if she will be suspended from school for taking part in a tense campus standoff. the 21-year-old was among 43 students arrested for occupying wheele
