what you are also seeing is that where parkmerced stood between san francisco university and the bart station, you will see how bicycle lanes start to connect from university through the gateway to the census go -- or from san francisco university to the bar area. i'm going to drill down to show you what i'm talking about here is one of the mitigation measures we worked with said you need to make sure that pedestrians and bicyclists can safely cross streets. level of service really only measures automobiles moving through intersections. we have a priority on bicycle and pedestrian safety and transit reliability. wherever we can tweak an intersection that looks like it was getting in trouble to make it more say for bicycles and pedestrians, we did. what you see here is that there used to be a half -- this is the current half, the current situation now, of automobiles that were using the cloverleaf to cross what would be the bicycle path to get on the highway here analysis shows we can accommodate the traffic pattern in a way that does not necessarily -- also what that says is it actual

ancestors of the people and some of those bones are still in places like the university of california in berkeley and san francisco state university. so i'm wondering if at any time anybody has raised this issue as to, for example, a place to reburr those bones from the place -- reburr those bones from the place they came from. if you on treasure island have reached out to the people to see what their wishes and desires were for what happens. i know that the e.i.r. always says that they will go to the native american cultural -- i don't remember what the title is but -- it is really important knowing they are the original people of san francisco really trying to reach out and make sure that they are aware of what's going on. it is really difficult to follow this from afar. they were exiled from here and so we're trying to raise the issue because we want to make sure that as san franciscans, we have a responsibility to the original people. i just wanted to thank you for letting me raise this issue once more. >> thank you. is there any additional public comment? seeing none, public comment is closed. >> commissioner

i've retired from the university of california at san francisco. one of the big concerns i have is that there is no respect for seniors. i am a senior now and i have to use a cane. the streets have drivers with bicyclist and skateboarders. the sidewalks are not safe for seniors or children. we can't work collaborative lead to bring some respect for each other? the design of the city streets with the bicyclist have been crazy. it is crazy. there is no respect for the drivers. i have a vehicle and i can't ride a bike throughout the city anymore. bicyclist take up the whole street. it is not safe for seniors or children. we need to change the plans of the city. also, i want to mention that it would be good to make in the whole mission historical district has was the western addition. we need to develop those and to save our history. i have been doing that for the last 10 years. we need to preserve our past. we can't forget it. if we depend on bureaucrats, it will never happen. >> this is for you. city pools, all but one are closed on sundays. and of h

last, but certainly not least -- with the help of one of our interns at san francisco university, and we have catherine in the back room -- we had eight fantastic intern's from sf state as part of the rec and parks tourism program. they have been doing a tremendous variety of projects for us. this is the second year in a row. we will show the work of one of our interns, ginnie hopper -- jaime hopper. if you of been to our website recently, you would notice we have launched our recparktv. there are a number of basically guerilla videos about what we're doing in our parks. i have a very short two to three a video for excerpt about some of the things that's been happening over the last month. i am supposed to cue the overhead. i do not know how to do that. there are the boundaries of the project, impacting san francisco university, and thank you very much. president chiu: thank you. next speaker. >> good afternoon, supervisors. my name is laura traveler, and i have lived in parkmerced for 26 years, and i am here representing the action coalition. it is my professional opinion that the planning commission needs to further review and study the eir. it appears that they rushed to approval of the eir, and in their haste for approval, three major areas were not addressed, area one, the environmental impact on parkmerced. number two, the displacement of people, seniors, parents with young children, because the developers have forgotten that they are dealing with human beings of all races, creeds, and that room. it does not mean that the planning commission should do the same. decades of destruction impacting existing tenant can only lead to homelessness as well as terrible health issues among thousands of people. in closing, only the board of supervisors can address my three areas of mikey concerns. to review, we do, but and reconsider -- red
