sometimes with the winter storms you get a push of air and heavy snow falling in, that it can create updrafts in and on itself that can give you something that's odd for the dead of winters. east of harrisburg, you see that that's a lightning bolt that popped up on storm tracker 6 live, that's turned snow you get that when you have the kind of dynamics we have. with the heavy snow falling and strong winds that can give you spin-ups. now that we're seeing the lulls we'll transition to the second portion of the storm where the break up we've been seeing will fill in, through most of the afternoon we'll get another band or long period of accumulating snow. when you get this stuff that's when you pile the numbers up. we have snow on the grounds in philadelphia to the official tune of 13 inches of we have reports as high as 15. a little bit of less intense snow but not piling up at the same rate, but later heavy bands are possible. we'll continue to add. chris sowers outside right now. chris, one of the things we're looking at is the potential of 20 inches or more of snowfall amount that will put

there are strong updraft and one side of the storm has an unstable area, it's enough to trigger some thunder snow as you might want to call it. it is interesting to experience if you have not before because often when it is snowing it's quiet and peaceful, and then this big rumble of thunder comes along shattering the whole thing. a lot more than you notice when it's pouring rain and making all the noise. anyway, we will move on and take a look at what's going on. a live look from our roxboro sky cam. it's looking really nice, skies and sleet that was lost over -- left over on the ground that some of it has been cleared off. our video editor, jimmy, went back 24 hours and found shot from roxboro yesterday. we thought it would make a nice comparison of how it looks yesterday while it was snowing, there was still snow,/and ice on the road covering more of the area. if we switch back to what we've got this morning out there, you can see that of course we've got things cleared off nicely. some of the sidewalks are cleared and again the scene sunshine this morning. a big difference in 24
