the nypd has also set up blockades on the 96th street on the upper east and west side of manhattan to keep vehicles from coming into manhattan. we have seen lots of looters putting all their stuff into vehicles, many of them have plates from different states. that was something we were seeing. today there was one incident on the manhattan bridge, about 2,000 protesters peacefully marched from brooklyn over into manhattan and they got stopped by the police and there was a bit of a standoff there, could have escalated but didn't walk away, but the nypd showed up in big numbers at the bridge there, which could've been a situation not to be, that was after curfew. there was nothing but peaceful protest, people able to get their message out about black lives matter, systemic, you know, racism. it wasn't hijacked by all the looting we had seen in the previous days. new york governor andrew cuomo though had some pointed words today about who he thought was to blame for all of that looti looting. >> the nypd and the mayor did not do their job last night. i believe that. it was a disgrace. i b

there were a couple thousand on the upper west side, a few thousand over the brooklyn bridge in lower manhattan. the police have effectively dispersed most of them. we've been paying attention to the chase going around the city. police stopping people at certain intersections. you can see behind me a row of a dozen or more of people under arrest. we have been hearing reports of arrests across the industry, sometimes groups of 20, 25, groups of 40 or more. so a lot of arrests have been made. i've spoke on the a few protesters who have said they have disbanded for the night in most cases. they'll try to regroup tomorrow. the effectiveness of the breaking up of the groups seems to have happened right now. what we have around union square is this intersection has listen closed off by police while they conduct arrests. hearing on the scanners, a lot of reports for prisoner transports. there are still some scenes of sporadic violence here downtown. you can still see a number of police vehicles coming around. but a lot of it is prisoner transport at this point. we did hear of some looting and groups t

there really blocking off and cordoning off manhattan because of all of the looting that we saw last night up and down fifth avenue, sixth avenue, herald square, upper eastside, you name it. hundreds of stores hit. you can see over here, the police that are checking to see who lives in the neighborhood and they're also betting delivery -- some major delivery trucks as well as buses and come but this is completely different from what we saw last night. last night we saw plenty of vehicles full of really lots of stolen items. they were packing up their cars and moving from one block to the next. if you listen to the police scanner, it was one theft after the other. i was live on the air with you when we saw groups of looters, hundreds, thousands of them from different places in the city. tonight it's different. those that are out past curfew mostly the peaceful protesters that had started before. we had some protesters in brooklyn trent "f the curfew" but there are nearly as many calls of losing last night. here the conversation has all been about whether or not the national guard will be called in new york. new york governor andrew cuomo blames the n
