i just came home from upstate new york from serving a prison sentence of two to four.is is how i'll get my life back on track. i'm on my way to work. every day i work up at 5:30, i'm out the door by 6:00. so starts my day. my biggest fear. it's being asked that question, what crime did you commit? how can you sugar-coat criminal sell of a firearm? $40 a day hardly seems like enough. but you know what? i'll take working making minimum wage any day now as opposed to prison and death. it's almost 9:00 a.m. rough commute. about to start my work site now. basically anything that's going to pay the bills right now, help me get on my feet. right now, i'm the trash man. >> reporter: he may be the trash man and he may just be making $40 a day. but you know what? he tells us he wants to go to college and he wants to work at that nonprofit that helped him get this job. it's certainly better than hitting the streets and committing crimes. >> is he considered one of the lucky ones who found work? i'd imagine most of the people in his situation are pretty much out of luck. >> report
