but so if you look at other major urban cities, chicago los angeles, you know with similar similar demographicsose cities don't see as many cases go to trial, apparently. yeah that's right. bargain will avoid the court process exactly and even in low level cases say, like misdemeanor dui cases, san francisco likes to take those to trial because they can win those cases they can get not guilty verdicts and guess what. if they don't win at trial? it's usually not that bad of a punishment. oftentimes they get the same result that they were offered to begin with, and it gives their returnees experience in the courtroom. so what it does again is it pushes all these violent felonies with bad fact patterns onto the back burner and we see 5 10 15 year delay you reported almost a 10 year delay in a decade. witnesses can be misplaced or destroyed by accident so much can happen that the case itself won't hold water once it gets there. there isn't a lot of incentive. for speedy trial trial in these cases, so the defendant's wave their speedy trial rights and guess what? they stay in san francisco jail wher
