this is a big storm from urbana back to 15, all drifting off tolt east at a pretty good clip. that's the good news. we will widen back out and put this in motion. for the most part we are going to see these storms weaken, then move off to the east at 20 miles per hour. so we are going to be done with the rain and showers very quickly. so the same system that brought us flooding tonight spawned tornadoes last night and this morning from kansas to kentucky, killing nine. 40 miles southwest of topeka a tornado touched down last night at 10:30 in harveyville, kansas. the line of storms marched east ward. another tornado touched down short before 2:00 a.m. near branson, missouri resulting in one fatality. the line of storms continued to move east between 2:00 and 3:00 a.m. another tornado hit buffalo, missouri, just northwest of springfield. in the predawn hours a cold front spawned the deadliest tornado of the night in southern illinois. the tornado in harrisburg, illinois killed six and damaged or destroyed 300 homes and businesses. >> i'm just glad that it happened at night. no

side of 270, you can see that red slowing you down about 36 miles an hour here at route 80 out of urbana into clarks burke. that stretch. we'll -- clarksburg. that stretch. we'll go live to the southbound side of 270 closer to the point where the lanes divide. you have a bit of slow traffic. on the utter loop it's slowing down out of college park as you head to silver spring with the lanes open. this time on the inbound side of i-66 a bit of slow traffic out of manassas into centreville. we'll take a live look closer to the beltway where the pace improves to the beltway and a live look as well northbound on i-95 in springfield. you know this. it slows here every single day. basically dale city off and on into woodbridge and lorton off and on into springfield but the good news is the lanes are open. we'll cover area roadways once again but before i go, i have a follow-up to my report from yesterday. i gave you an update on the 495 express lanes on the beltway. last october similar high occupancy toll lanes opened along interstate 85 outside of atlanta. the biggest problem there of course
