i am the executive director of friends of urban forest. thank you for having this hearing today. i am speaking directly to the better streets plan. your question about how effective the working relationships are between various departments and various non-profit in the city -- a good example of that is that we live in the public right of way, as supervisor marr said. this is a right of way everyone in this city shares. basically all of our work all year long is trying to beautify the public right of way, either by planting trees or by maintaining gardens. at cesar chavez, we are currently installing 6000 square feet of gardens. we have done that in conjunction with the planning department, the bureau of urban forestry, and the puc. this has been a project that has taken two years in working. i think the end product is that we have come up with a much more beautiful plan for that area, and it has been completely consistent with the better streets plan. we benefited from all the work that has gone into the creation of that plan, and we have adhered to it throughout. the communicati
