these awards are important and they're an important opportunity for all of us at city hall to make aand salute the people and organizations that work hard every day to make our neighborhoods the very best that they are. so, i have the distinct pleasure to introduce one of my most favorite people, city employees here in san francisco. y'all just heard from mr. clean, and that's who we affectionally call the director of dpw mohammed nuru. and he has a right hand and that right hand, her name is sandra zanega. it doesn't matter what neighborhood you're in, you can call either one of them and they will tell you what's going on. they know what's going on in that neighborhood and they know the pumps of what's going on in that neighborhood. not only do they reach out to every neighborhood association, merchant association, but they also work hard with the corporate sponsors to make sure that they are committed to our neighborhoods, to making sure that they are clean, that the graffiti is removed, that the dumping is taken away, that we have vibrant commercial corridors, vibrant commercial -

i used to teach at city college i taught only evening class of nurses. i come into my class and many of them would have their heads down on their desks by the way, they worked all day but as soon as i started talking they were alert they were there. they were wonderful students. a number of years later i had a heart condition where i had a triple bypass i was happy to have some students that i had taking care of me. now i'm an advocate for seniors with disabilities and i can't emphasize enough the importance of those programs. someone wrote on interesting piece california he wrote cancels colleges provided retraining for folks who need to stay in the workforce. many of the decisions came about because the funds were insufficient because of disease or other unplanned events. those are targeted specifically for this phonetics to address their educational and number one educational. the human brain can be slowed down to prevent brighten deceased. so people can remain a vital part of our community >> thank you anything else want to speak please come forward.

but they have been very helpful in us really monitoring and having some proof at city effectiveness becauseomebody asked me in the other presentation, you've got all these programs, you've got clean up programs, how much are you spending on your program? we're spending a million dollars a year and everybody is saying, well, you know, how do you justify where you are putting those dollars? and i'm justifying putting those dollars because i can take my graffiti audit and say i know that this is where the graffiti is happeninging in the city. this is where the taggers are moving around and that information is then also shared with the edmonton police service and they are using that information in terms of going after which taggers so it's critical for a city to really look at not just anecdotally look at whether your graffiti is going up or down, it has to do with how effective you can make your programming. the graffiti audit program we have come up with, we looked everywhere to see if there was anybody doing any type of statistical analysis on graffiti vandalism in cities and we weren't able

as we take a look at wind of us there currently at 26 mi. in redwood city.san francisco it is very breezy around the bay area with temperatures in the '50s. it is not as warm as it was 24 hours ago. today, we're at 54 degrees. we are tracking the numbers into afternoon. by noon it will be a split decision for 60's right around the heart of the bay and '70's in the inland every yeararea. though orange is indicating 80s but we did break records yesterday. it will be about 15 degrees cooler especially along the coastline. by 8:00 p.m. if you are out you can expect the temperatures to be widespread in the '60s. >> 73 degrees for santa clara and 724 out toll. for paut to allpalo alton. we have a couple of things going on. a few of us are waking up to fall outside and we are seeing some clouds that are streaming through. we do have westerly winds and it feels very breezy if you're headed out to work in school. there is a ridge of high pressure and we are looking at a relatively mild conditions. and expect the conditions to a return for the we can repaiweekend. >>
