the city and it's loaded up with cars thanks to all of the you guys that came out to say hello to us at fordwinds out of the west at 10 miles per hour that gives windchills in the teens and 20 in allentown and we'll add a couple more degrees to that for the high. 21 in trenton and down the shore still pretty cool. future tracker showing you windchills the rest of the way we are in the teens the rest of the region and getting up to a 21 degree windchill at 3:00 at the height of the afternoon heating. this morning we told you to dress the kids warmly it's still windy and chilly on the way home. by midnight tonight we are looking at chilly conditions and cecily will be here on 6 abc at 11:00 to talk about that. satellite 6 along with action radar shows you a sweep of clouds, now the clouds are thinner and we are seeing more sunshine. up in allentown it's cold a high of 22 mostly sunny skies with some high thin cloud cover and brisk and on the chilly side windchills not making it to the teens in the lehigh valley. in philadelphia we go for a high of 29 today sunshine and a bit on the windy and c

gorgeous sunset sent in to us by don ford. look at that by mt. diablo. gorgeous sky.ht after 5 :30 the sun went down and don took an amazing picture. for the first time since we were tracking santa we'll be tracking rainfall as well. dry tonight but things will be changing. i find it very interesting how the atmosphere works. the smaim ridge that's blocked any chance of rainfall for the past six weeks will be the same delivery mechanism for the rainfall. high pressure was right over top of us over the past couple days. it's now sliding to the south. you notice the increase in cloud cover today. it continues to slide to the south for the next few days but still strong enough and close enough to keep the rain away. it's raining in far northern california but not here. it's still a blocking ridge. it will go from the a blocking ridge to a steering ridge. now there's a wall in the atmosphere but it's not over us. all of this moisture will now hit the wall, go up over the ridge, but now that means it's passing over the bay area. the same thing blocking the rainfall brings

ford theater in downtown d.c. we first reported this on twitter. news4's mark segraves joins us live with a look at what crews are doing to dry things out right now. mark? >> reporter: good evening wendy. this water pipe burst actually affected several buildings downtown here near 10th and "f" street. most notably the historic fords theater. crews are downstairs in the basement trying to remove the water. and the basement is the home to the theater's museum. the museum is home to irreplaceable artifacts like the gun that fired the fatal shot that killed abraham lincoln as well as clothing worn by john wilkes booth and medical instruments that were used to treat booth. luckily the water didn't get high enough to damage the artifacts but the damage is bad enough to temporarily close the museum. >> the theater remains open, performances go on as scheduled. just the museum is affected. we don't have a projected time with when we'll be able to reopen. >> reporter: the closure comes as a disappointment to the nearly 1,000 visitors a day who come to this museum, and it comes as fords theater is preparing
