us in the past 30 minutes. first off, there are 103 migrant children under the age of 5 who have been separated. the department of justice just informed us that 57 of them have been reunited with their families this morning. that means there are 46 who are still separated from their parents for a number of reasons. some of the reasons, the government, the u.s. government has safety concerns about their parents. parents who have a serious criminal history, for example. in other instances, the parents have already been deported out of the united states. the government is in the process of trying to reach those people so they can be reunited with their children. a federal judge ordered that children younger than 5 be reunited with their families by yesterday, but the trump administration missed that deadline. nbc news did speak with a father from honduras who was separated from his 4-year-old son when they sought asylum at the u.s. border back in february. the father has been so distraught over the past several months, over the separation, that he cut himself and threatened suicide. they're now reunited. he said they don't
