ben carson he joins us from charleston. what do you make about your position in the polls? >> well, i'm glad to see that so many people are starting to listen to what i'm saying. evaluating it on its merits as opposed to listening to what people have portrayed me as saying, make a big difference. >> dickerson: want to talk to you about what anthony and i were talking about what are the attributes that make a president. i'm not trying to create a fake fight but donald trump says that you have no energy, that he can make deals. what is your sense of that? is he right, are you too nice to be president? >> well, i don't think so. i don't think there's anything wrong with being nice but you have to recognize that my life is multi-faceted. growing up having multiple jobs, experiencing every level socioeconomic level in, spending 18 years on the board of kellogg. 16 years on the board of costco. enormous amount of experience. chairman of the compensation committee for fortune 500 company. and in fact if you go back you look at the compensation of the top executives it was really v

mark potter joining us from charleston. bond hearings don't usually take quite this long. on? >> reporter: well, ari, it hasn't really been all that long given the controversial and emotional nature of the case. there was a hearing yesterday afternoon, there was a little bit of a follow-up hearing this morning and the judge only had the case for a few hours for his consideration. now, that judge clifton newman said that he will try to rule as expeditiously as possible. we are standing outside the courthouse awaiting the ruling although there's absolutely no guarantee that it could happen today. it could be another day. in court this morning, the former police officer the defendant told the defendant he is not a flight risk. he'll obey all the rules of the court should he wibe let out on bond and not a danger to the community and would like to be with his family an newborn son while awaiting the hearing. the prosecutor said he is a flight risk, a doing tore the community because of the serious charges against him and the very strong evidence against him. the victim's family

from charleston in south carolina. thank you very much for speaking to us.are your initial thoughts on what happened here, what might have caused this type of crane in this particular environment to collapse? >> with the small amount of information that i have and the video that i have seen, as i understand, there was high winds and rain and the boom went over backwards. it indicates to me that the boom was blown over backwards by high winds because the boom was at a high angle. this happens quite frequently in different parts of the world. so that would be my first opinion. high winds. >> and that's what we have heard from saudi authorities as well, that heavy winds and rain is thought to be the cause. wod there have been any sign or indication that this particular crane was vulnerable to those strong winds when other cranes in the area surrounding that complex were able to withstand them? >> well, many things come in to play. were the other cranes tied down? were there booms at a low angle? these are the things that i do not know. and this was a crane with
