from ohio on his legislation. the national parks means so much to us and alaska. i'm looking forward to getting on that bill as a cosponsor of a very important piece of legislation. so once again, senator portman is leading the way in the senate on so many issues. but, mr. president, what i want to do this afternoon was say a few words about the president's visit to nato and the nato meeting that we just had and talk about the importance of alliances and our allies. i think if you read in the press now, i think overall you see this trip, you see the meeting. the president met with all the nato leaders in brussels, that overall was a good trip. there's been this commitment by nato members since at least 2014, but it really goes way earlier than 2014 for each country to spend 2% or more of their g.d.p. on defense spending. so we share the burdens of defense. now, the united states has slings always -- -- has essentially always, always, met this target, easily met this target, but a lot of other countries haven't. and they've heard time and time again from presidents

us. mr. hill: our friend from ohio? >> i worked in metal stamping and one of the challenges was the tariffs are only on the commodity and they are blueprint alum new steel, all mexico. beverage cans are commodyilt. and they consume lots of baverages, there is a significant ability to produce this grade of alume number. so the idea that we would target that isn't changing our market. there are things like the grades of rod that your tire manufacturers are or similar rod for the wire. we have domestic wire manufacturers who weren't the subsidized , have their wire manufacturers. this is a national security issue. we want the base rod to be made in the u.s. some of those grades aren't. soon, if we don't get the exclusions, which won't have the manufacturer of welding wire either. mean while their cost has gone up by 25% or more because of the tariffs and losing market share. they don't have a year or two or wait for the exclusions review. they are losing business now. some of these companies are big enough to shift product

ohio state. good to see you. so what can you tell us about this latest accusation and lawsuit? >> so in the latest lawsuit filed against ohio state basically comes fromtiffs. each of the three previous ones have all been class action. this one has been led by someone named steve snyder hill who claims that when he was a student at ohio state, he went to a physical with dr. strauss. during the physical, he was abused by strauss. he then went and complained about these accusations. he said there was no action taken after that. now, the lawsuit also cites that ohio state knew as early as 1978 when strauss was first hired that complaints had been made suggesting sexual abuse from the doctor. so in a number of these allegations, it's always claimed that ohio state had knowledge of and had received complaints of the sexual abuse from the doctor. these are ones that go into more specific detail. >> so how is that documented? i mean, how does the university or how is it able to reflect, you know, what its response was at the time and now? >> yeah, it's tough to say. one of the biggest issues that ohio state has run into is the fact that a lot of these docume
