complete opposite end of the spectrum for us here this afternoon. we're looking at as our roof cam here 58 degrees, sunny skies. not a cloud in the sky for us here as we look out towards the statehouse and off to the south and southeast. right now, winds out of the west and northwest around 10 to 15 miles per hour. so going to be a little breezy for us. we're seeing a big changeover from that very wet atmosphere we were seeing this morning to more of a drier setup this afternoon and a lot of that being aided by those winds out of the west and southwest. what that's going to do is bring us a lot more of that dry air and kick out that a little longer. that is moving on and moving up the east coast. bring a lot of rain for those areas there. for us, the rain is done. we are watching a system bacac to the west very fast moving system kind of coming through the lower part of the midwest and central plains. we'll be watching that system as it moves throughout the day today. but i do think that will stay to our north. because of that, we'll stick with the s

and it looks like a beautiful day but it looks like it doesn't necessarily feel like it for most of us here. look for temperatures to be warmer. we're five to 10 degrees warmer for most locations this afternoon. but that doesn't really do a whole lot for us because it was so cold yesterday. even though we're going to see about a 10 degree improvement, it'still rather cold outside. we're one of the warmer spots. now at 41. so they're making some improvement. like all of us, it's going to be a slow gradual warming process for most of the area today. a little bit of cloud cover here and there. but respecting dry conditions for us today. albeit cool is going to be a more pleasant day than it was yesterday. a lot of that due in part to the winds being much calmer. calm winds for us here. st. matthews at five out of the south. breezy spot thankfully around seven miles per hour. that's an improvement from the 30 to 40-mile-per-hour wind gusts we were seeing yesterday at this time. looking forward to satellite and radar to remain mostly quiet for us. we did see some clouds trickling in mid morning

not a particularly rainy one for us here at home. we've seen a lot of rain across the state but mainly towards the upstate and off towards the lowcountry and out towards myrtle beach and those areas there. for us, we've been kind of caught in between a lot of that rain which was the exact opposite as yesterday. we did see some good rain yesterday afternoon and i saw almost two inches of rain locally. elsewhere, not as much but they're catching up with us with that steady rain that we were seeing earlier this morning. we're seeing a little bit of a lull in the action so far this afternoon, not a lot happening for us. i do expect us to see some form of rainfall during the day today and into tonight, but as of right now, should be nice and dry here. grabbing some lunch here in the short term. temperatures, though, ranging anywhere from the mid 40's to the low to mid 60's. we have that frontal boundary, and warm air coming in from the south. i think this warm air will spread across the area as we move throughout the rest of the afternoon.
