chuck bell has been traveling in maryland and virginiand joins us live along the inner loop of the beltway in fairfax. >> reporter: good morning. we are a cold and wet 35 degrees this morning. inner loop as you mentioned, authority bound here getting up towards the tysons corner area temperature here now is at 34.5 degrees. and we've been steadily at or above the freezing mark for almost all of our trip. the only places where we encountered below freezing temperatures were in the western parts of frederick county maryland out toward boones borough, myersville. there were some places where we noticed temperatures below .there were some places where we notice. closer it to theto the metro area it's falls as rain. so there is warmer air aloft. so the heavier steadier rain will mix some of the warm he air down and help with the warm-up today. so basically if you don't have ice on your road right now, you woebl probably won't need to worry about temperatureit. but rain tends to cause problems. so take it easy out there. >>> mayor bowser deployed the know team more than 200 plows are on the road

. >> our mola lenghi joins us live from frederick, maryland. we keep throwing you out in the snow day after day. how bad is it? >> reporter: i certainly appreciate you guys for that. certainly not too bad out here in frederick county. the worst as topper just mentioned kind of came and went. we saw a little bit of everything on the way to frederick running up 270 and here saw a little rain, sleet, snow but again nothing too heavy. it was all pretty short lived. the worse thing going for us now is probably just the wet roads. you combine that with some cold temperatures going on later, it could create some slick spots as topper mentioned. d.o.t. crews throughout the area in maryland as well as virginia have been pretreating roads all day. between the two they have upwards of 1,000 pieces of equipment on the roads ready to go as needed. virginia d.o.t. says they will keep a small fleet, a few hundred trucks, out overnight well after the storm passed their areas just as a precaution to monitor typical trouble spots, bridges, overpasses, things like that. still d.o.t. officia
