and of course this wonderful place the exporatorium the person who manages this incredible city asset is port director monique who led us to this site and along with the staff of 235 people managing this ongoing and very important asset for the city which is about to celebrate its 150th anniversary. so please welcome monique moyer. >> well, good morning, everyone. and welcome to the most amazing water front in the world. it is always sunny and clear when we are celebrating at the water front. and as mr. ashley said, one week from today, the port of san francisco will mark the 150 anniversary and i could not think of a better birthday present than the new exporatorium. so it is my honor and also my thrill to be here today to not just to celebrate this grand achievement but to mark this historic moment for the port wr, we have once guinea involved ourselves both architecturally, scientifically, socially, and environmentally, and economically. and the port as you know, was the beginning of our city, just a few blocks here and it is the basic of the tell graph hill and it started as agricultural and fishing village, right t

this life. bishop, good morning to you. start with what's happened in oklahoma. you have roots there, your family is there, how can people manage the pain? >> well, of course, everybody uses faith. this cityown for its faith. there's a lot of fundamentalist christians, there are jews, there are muslims. and in every discipline when natural disasters occur, people use faith to manage their fear, to manage their pain, and that's common in any place on the planet. people use faith. that's what we're doing here in oklahoma. that's what we do in chicago when we have terrible storms and people do that when they have it in their lives. i don't believe anybody goes to hell, but i believe everybody goes through it in some way. eternal damnation, but weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth, that's in oklahoma today, in certain parts of the world where people are angshed over the loss of family or fortune. some people are in jail. some people are at icu right now. some people are in emergency rooms and going through divorce, all that's hellish and painful and pitiful. so we use different ways to treat that pain. some are in church this morning, they're on their way, getting ready to go and get som

city. this program that we offer is for use; we offer intensive case management. if they need therapy, we offer that. the tattoo removal is court-mandated but also for our clients' safety. a lot of the tattoos pose a threat to their lives. they want to make a change in their lives. every day and daily basis we get phone calls from adult but want to get their tattoo removed, court-mandated. we don't have the capacity of the funds to help all those people that call us. i want to know what is the city's plan for re-entry. it is not just -- one more thing -- not just making them go through a process with the police. is also rehabilitation to help them to come back into society. thank you. are having in the city and along comes a whole bevy of coming in this economy that affects the management and the host company that is start ing in san francisco that want to plan with us and not wait for a disaster to hit and then find out that we could have accessed many people. that is helpful for the mayor to search for more partners and get ready and be more excited about recovery. when you look at what happened in new orleans and all the victims of tornados. they always tell you they could have been more ready for this had they engaged people ahead of time. this is what we are doing to improve these changes. if the economy gets hit by a major earthquake, that's an incredible hit to the rest of the country. we have to invest a lot more. that is one example of how we can use a lot more technology companies helps us with things that have challenged our cities. >> the likelihood of an earthquake is less than out here, although i have lived in city hall, working there one day when the building actually shook. it was the first that i noticed. everything did shake a little bit. it wasn't particularly frightening. right now we are trying to figure out what to do the next
