in fact, if you look at the about us netflix, there's only one mention of dvd. there's a question whether the streaming videos are covered by the vppa. it was suggested that it would be helpful to change language in the vppa to confirm that it does. would netflix support doing that? >> mr. franken, netflix would probably not -- we would not support that. i think the issue for us is really one of what is video in the future and how do you think about that in the internet age. video embedded into news stories, is that a news story or is that streaming video? music videos, is that music or is that videos, books. i recently read a book and it has a texting powerpoint presentation, you can imagine that in the future books will integrate video. is that covered? so extending the video protection privacy act into the internet raises a host of issues and i think there's a host of our players that need to be involved in that, a wholistic approach would be something that netflix would be involved in, but just saying it applies to streaming, opens a whole hoetstf issues tha

us to compete in both. >> the content question, bob, is the big one that looms here. who do you have content deals with? are you ready to announce any of them? and that content, because netflix is facing it, is going to get more and more expensive. >> tyler, i'm not ready to announce today who our content providers are, but i can tell you currently coinstar and red box already bring to the table already existing content relationships, fios we already have many relationships beyond that with other content providers. so we'll be working on both sides of the aisle to pull out and create the right mix that will be the perfect set to bring to market in this new offering. >> but whatever future content arrangements you do to will be separate from those that you already have through verizon fios? >> we'll build off of those relationships. this will be a separate product, yes. >> paul, what is the product's name and what is the pricing anticipated to be? >> well, as we get closer to launch, we'll actually come out and share with you both the brand name as well as the product and platform offerings. but rest assured that if you look at kind of the core attributes of the red box brand

netflix, youtube, twitter, facebook into that ps vita. and into the ecosystem there. the question now is how to win the gamer hearts and whip the competition. sony computer entertainment ceo is here with us. jack, welcome. what's the niche you're targeting here? this is not -- this is more than some of the competition because you have web access on it, you have wi-fi on it. it does a lot more than just a handheld gaming device. >> there's no question it's the trojan horse, tyler, but we are marketing it as the ultimate portable gaming device. when i started it was considered a toy targeted to 12 to 17-year-old boys. now we have a billion consumers worldwide considered gamers. 163 million in the united states alone. >> tell me about the various price points. where do they start? where do they go? and if i want wi-fi, it comes with it, but if i want 3g cell service, i pay a carrier, right? >> there are two models. $249 for the wi-fi model $299 for the 3g model. we have at&t as a service provider. there's no subscription service requirement. they can buy a data plan for $15 which will give them 250 megs or 3 gigs for $30. it's kind of pay as you go. they can try it out in the 3g. ultimately

he is cautious on netflix saying the stock has begun to price in aggressive expectations. guys, great to have you both with uscourage you to talk directly to one another. jason, it seems like there's more and more news about content partnerships, more and more people entering the streaming space with the verizon coinstar deal, for instance. isn't that going to pose a competitive challenge here? >> you have to look at the economics. the reality is the studios can't sell dvds anymore. this is their stream now. it's all about the business model. if you look at the amount of money that netflix is collecting and the amount of money that they can pay out, if they can pay out a higher amount of money than anybody else, they can have a better library and a better consumer experience. it's interesting when you look at that coinstar/verizon release, there were no details. what is it going to cost, what is the content available? the reality is they don't know. they have to have the conversation with the studios. amazon will admit that they know they can't have a service comparable to netflix unless they charge money. bu
