us and show us your pictures on instagram we love to show them every night. thank you so much for spending that in. but again no worries there for the rain. it was up to the north where we had about an inch of rain from fitchburg to beverly about an inch and a half today. it was very localized because placesli picked up less than a tenth boston just under a quarter of an inch of rain. while it was just mainly heavy rain we did have a little bit of thunderstorms especially rolling through connecticut and down across long island where this is actually the first time i'm seeing this funnel cloud report. it was this storm right here this thunderstorm wind damage right around 1:30 reports of trees and power lines down that was an ef-0 tornado this occurred at 1:30 in north haven connecticut. maximum wind speeds were injuries there. it was just rain across our area not much happening now. the vineyards seeing a few showers. temperatures though in the 70s for this time of day. it is mild out. we've got more warmth heading our way. as we have the cold front that will be watching very closely. it will be slipping southward and it will bring an end to this heat and humidity but it doesn't look to cross for the weekend. until then we also h really picking up friday into the weekend. 60s and 70s across the northeast but we have 80s and 90s through the middle part of the country that heat will be building into our region for tomorrow. so combined with the humidity and the heat we do have a heat advisory out there. that means that it's going to feel like it's nearly 100 to 105 for this area shaded in this orange color here. from noon to 7:00 p.m.. you want to just take precautions this means try a room with a.c. when the heat and humidity are this high it could lead to heat-related illnesses. i know some folks have to be outside and work. try to take breaks. if you have to do any hard activity do it in the morning or evening when it's not just during the mid-point of the day. also drink plenty of water you want to wear light closing. 77? in boston. it feels tropical out there. you feel like you can cut the air for the most part. see some clouds and fog develop. waking up to temperatures in the 70s. hazy sunshine with a mix of some clouds building as we head through the midday hours. temperatures already soaring to 90 degrees at your lunch hour. now the risk of a shower very light to mild between 10% to 20% and best chances to the south and i really think most of us stay dry. but by the afternoon look at that highs in the mid to upper 70s. that's why we'll see that heat index as we get closer to 100 during the middle part of the day. south coast and the cape and islands with that wind out of the southwest will be well into the 90s but feeling even hotter. if have you tickets to the patriots game tomorrow you want to make sure have you plenty of fluids and be prepared for muggy conditions. humid and hot conditions continue into the weekend with a risk of those showers and storms increasing. wildly scattered on friday but more numerous saturday and sunday. over to you. >>> a woman left her daughter inside a local hospital bathroom just days after she was born. that newborn is now 25 years old. new at 10:00 her biofacebook post in an effort to find her birth mother and the message she has for you. >>> plus, you will know where they are at all times. the new personal tracking device you can stick on a pet or child to get realtime information. >>> but
