giants for apple and google using so-called tech buss to shuttle workers from the south bay to the peninsula to san francisco using muni bus stops like this one in mcallister across city hall. this has been going on for years for free. the pilot program would charge them 1 per stop per day. it would get about $1.6 million for the city each year. the municipal transportation administration holding a public hearing this morning to get feedback about 80 stops in particular across san francisco that the shuttles could use. some take away parking and converting the loading magazines. the shuttles are good because they eliminate at least 45 million vehicle miles and 760,000 metro tons of carbon each year. however opponents of the program whop have staged protests filed a lawsuit last month against the city in the hopes of blocking these shuttles from using bus stops. they say the tech buses sometimes block muni buses causing delays. opponents also say the shuttles bring in highly paid tech workers into the city, driving up rent and housing costs, causing a skyro
