we are reclaiming our streets and the initiative of this project help us to do so. we are continuing to work with agencies and many people. the police will have to contend with a new police capt. we are going to inform him and bring him up to speed on what we are trying to do, but it is a cooperative venture, and it is a partnership with many of the city agencies. we are glad that people are working together and left hand knows what the right hand is doing, which i think is kind of rare in the city. but it is a really good thing. we are excited. we know our work is not done. we are trying to augment our street lighting because of safety issues, you know? we are going to keep fighting because we feel it is important and we feel it is important for the quality of our lives while we are here and we can make a change, and we have to be the catalyst for that change. the residents have to really be involved. we are going to make this change, and it will have effects on not only our generation, but on the generations to come. hopefully, it will be able to be replicated time

many times history happens to us, but in this case, you can choose to be a part of it. this is a very historic day and so i'm very, very proud to be here. >> i have been volunteering. last monday i performed 12 different marriage smones. the least amount of time that any of the couples that i married have been together is two years. most of the couples have been together eight, nine, 10, i'd say 70% have been together at least that long if not longer. >> there is a lot of misconception about who gay and lesbian people are. it's important that people see that we love our husbands and wives to be and love our children and have the right to have families just like everyone else. >> it's important that we have experienced our own families, our own friends, and the excitement of the volunteers when we get here has made us feel wonderful and accepted and celebrated. >> there is a lot of city agencies, city departments, divisions that offer up their employees to help us out since overwhelming response, it's unbelievable at how city government works. this is the time that san f

supervisor campos: is there something pressing that would prechoir us to be here? supervisor mirkarimi: like the negotiations with shell? >> no. i don't think there is anything pressing in the next three weeks. supervisor campos: unless my colleagues feel strongly otherwise, i would say not to have a meeting. because even though -- in addition to having one member of the lafco who is on the budget committee and is actually the vice chair, i know that those of us on the board of supervisors who are not on the budget committee may have some involvement as well. so unless any commissioner feels otherwise -- i would say not to have a meeting. supervisor mirkarimi: it's a busy month. >> thank you. supervisor mirkarimi: and to that question through the chair, remind me again of what the date is about us getting had some idea of the negotiations with shell? >> well, the idea is by the end of june we would be able -- by the end of june or first or second week of july, we should be coming back with actual draft contact. what i will be talking to mike about is a joint meeting
