when we talked about the instructional calendars we invite the union, so we had fciu was invited, usaf, and parent groups and in attendance, parents for public schools. we had input from the assistant superintendents for the schools. so everyone looked at the calendar, they thought it was a good -- it made good sense. it aligned to what was presently in the contract. we only had one work day and three professional development days. that is something we would have to change in the contract. these calendars align to what is in the contract. >> i guess i just want to say because it's always what we've done isn't necessarily a reason i'm interested in hearing. if it's logical and makes sense, i haven't been privy to those conversations and i'm just reticent to i proving two years in -- approving two years in advance, if we want to change things, i'd like to have that flexibility. i am a parent and know about calendars and i'm having enough trouble trying to figure out how to schedule summer school. i think one year in advance is good, in my opinion. >> i just would like to add, we've never
