we have had some e-mail with usf, productive exchanges, but i sent 3 e-mails to dpw and i have received no response. it is the context of that. president goh: thank you. >> commissioners, i am john from the department of public works. in these cases when there is a settlement between parties, as long as there is no expansion to the encroachment, the department would typically reissue a minor sidewalk encroachment, rescind the previously issued a permit, and describe what the new it encroachment would be. there is very little from that perspective that dpw would need to participate in the discussion for. it is an agreement in place between the parties and all we do is validate in this case that the encroachment has been reduced and not expand ied. so there may have been some miscommunication in this case in terms of the request made of the department compared with what we typically do on these types of encroachments when there is a reduction or modification. president goh: would you be willing to respond to an email or other query from the parties? >> yes, commissioner. they contacted me

i'm here at masonic and golden gate in san francisco right by usf. the person's body is still in the roadway here this morning. the medical examiner is here and the investigation is under way. but a 55-year-old man was apparently hit and killed by a 23-year-old who was coming through this area. now, there aren't any crosswalks near where the body is this morning so it isn't clear if this man was crossing the road, in a crosswalk at the time but we know he has passed away. take a look at some video we shot just a couple of hours ago. the car apparently after hitting this man sped off and then crashed here at st. mary's medical center and met some planters. that's where the driver was injured. he was arrested and taken to the hospital. he is again 23 years old. and he has gotten a few blocks from the original trash site. this is where he landed, crashed his car and was arrested by police. so couple of blocks closed, turk, masonic and golden gate as police continue their investigation. back to you guys. >> thank you. >>> no official city celebration but

this morning san francisco police are out there investigating a shooting near usf. 22-year-old man was shot several times as he sat in his car late monday night. he managed to drive himself to the richmond police station to get some help. he's in serious condition at sfo general hospital. they believe he was targeted. >>> a parolee who led santa rosa police on a car chice is in jail this morning. police say they tried to pull over michael todd on korby avenue last night. police say he drove over a curb and ran a red light and crashed into a car near rincon road. police say todd started to rupp. but he was arrested in a nearby driveway. police say he had drugs on his person and they also say they found a rifle in his car. he's facing several charges. >>> the debate to pay for two controversial gang injunctions in oakland lasted into the early-morning hours. our crews were there as a passionate city council meeting finally led to a decision and claudine wong joins us live with reaction to that decision. good morning, claudine. >> reporter: good morning, tori, yes. the

i'm here at masonic and golden gate in san francisco right by usf.is the next block up the hill. this is an area that police have blocked off this morning because this is where a 55-year- old man was apparently hit and killed by a 23-year-old who was coming through this area. apparent he was in the crosswalk and his body thrown a half block away. the car that hit him traveling around 50 miles per hour according to police. this is where the vehicle ended up according to police outside of st. mary's medical center. he crashed. in between hitting the pedestrian and crashing at the medical center, police say that he also hit several parked cars and was speeding through town. he hit some cars that fell in clayton as well as on schroeder streets. police started following him when they saw there was significant damage to the car. the hood was up. that was suspicious. that's when they started following him. and they found him with his car crashed then outside of the medical center. that driver is 23 years old. he may have been intoxicated. he is in the hospi
