the latest fire is near san francisco general at the corner of 24th and utah. nbc bay area's kimberly terry is there with the latest for us. >> reporter: diane, that fire happened in a victorian on utah street just up the block and around the corner. police have the block shut down right now so we can't give you a closer view than this. but you can see trucks are still out on the scene here. i just spoke with the fire chief who says the fire is, in fact, out and there are no injuries that have been reported. he says they got the call just before 9:00 tonight. the fire was on the second and third floors of a multi-family home, a victorian on the 1300 block of utah, a few blocks from san francisco general. there are 100 firefighters on-scene right now, 20 companies tending to the three-alarm fire which again is out now. the fire chief says it did cause significant damage, spreading to the attic and then out to the two homes on either side of it. on the left is a single-family home. to the right as two-unit building. you can't see it since we are around the block

blustering winds in parts of utah and colorado flew at over 150 miles per hour. but california saw the worst of it. now the cleanup has begun. pasadena, known for its historic homes and wide, oak-lined streets, are strewn with l.a. county inmates, clearing out trees. some communities have declared a state of emergency. and the red cross has opened centers providing food and aid to people affected by the windstorm. >> we have more than 100 crews out. we expect those crews have been called, from as far away as utah, arizona, bishop, to help restore power. >> reporter: much of the debris has been pushed aside. but cleanup crews are working around the clock, returning telephone poles upright, removing 100-year-old trees that seemed to swallow cars and homes whole. so, here's where we go from this point. we do still have some wind problems. then, it will be snow. this is near albuquerque, new mexico. the top end of in a low-pressure system that was part of the problem is now traversing our nation and giving some snow issues to parts in the center. do keep that as a li

they were all headed for a utah ski trip when they made a pit stop in elko, nevada. sharon chin is in lafayette where some of those students are expected to arrive home today. good morning to you, sharon. >> reporter: good morning. organizers say that hundreds of teenagers went on the ski trip towards salt lake city and about six dozen were from here at acalanes high school. the organizers say that about 17 teens were found with drugs but elko police say that they found 250 teens and drugs on board when they searched five tour buses and discovered marijuana hallucinogens and alcohol. they say they were 45 miles from the utah destination when a store clerk reported passengers smoking in a parking lot. police dogs sniffed drugs. they gave the kids a choice, juvenile detention or turn over the drugs. >> people around me were freaking out because they didn't know if they should turn it in or not because if they didn't turn it in and every and got caught, the trip would be ruined if they didn't turned it in. >> the mavericks store people called us so our officers went wit
