they're calling the situation in the state of utah dire. just last week we saw the governor speaking candidly to residents and saying they should be alarmed. we saw it back to back record numbers of cases in a single day in utah on thursday. it was then shattered on friday with a total of nearly 2000 cases in one day. but the biggest concern here is what it's doing to the health care system. just overwhelming the health care system throughout the state. specifically icus and here at the university utah hospital just behind me here where the icu is just overrun. we talked to nurses who say look, we have 25 beds. 17 are going to co-vid patients right now. and they also just kind of detailed for us how intense it is to try to care for these patients. but as you mentioned, this idea of rationing care. prioritizing care and essentially what that means is you've got to, for example, an older patient and a younger patient who have equal levels of care. and so basically at that point, given the way things are going, these health care providers woul
