determining whether sufficient factual evidence exists to hold va or specific individuals accountable on the basis of criminal, civil, or administrative laws and regulations. veterans who utilize the va health care system deserve quality care and timely care. therefore it's necessary that information relied upon to make mission critical management decisions regarding demand for vital health care services must be based on reliable and complete data throughout va's health care networks. to date, we have ongoing or scheduled work at 69 va medical facilities and have identified instances of manipulation of va data that distort the legitimacy of va waiting times when sufficient credible evidence is identified supporting a potential violation of supporting a potential violation of criminal law, we are coordinating our efforts with the department of justice. our work to date has substantiated serious conditions at the phoenix health care system. we identified about 1,400 veterans who did not have a primary care appointment but were appropriately listed on the phoenix electronic wait list. however, we identified an additional i ditional 1,700

[ applause ] >> do you think the obama administration is handling the va crisis seriously enough? why or why not? >> no, i think that any type of system that places a large number of bureaucrats between people and their care is a bad system. did they mean well? yes. have i worked in va facilities? yes. are there wonderful people there that dedicate their lives to helping? absolutely. but there is a lot of bureau accurateic problems. you have to hold people accountable. in the book of proverbs, it says if a ruler harkins to lie all of his servants are wicked. and that means if you don't hold people accountable they will observe that and say we can get away with that. there needs to be accountability and it is hard to have accountability when you have a government that is so large no one understand where the problems are. we need to reduce the government and i talk about doing that by attrition. we have thousands of government workers that retire each year. let them go. if we need more workers we can shift from other areas. within five years, you have a lean
