as we look from our vaca cam, we see a mix of clouds out there, still precipitation flying. but it's mainly confined to the shoreline at this point and moving to the south. as we take a look at the temperature map outside around the bay this morning, we'll see currently looking at mid to upper 20s for the colder locations, mainly in the north bay. but even right at the water, around the bay, oakland at 34, as is fremont, downtown fran at 37. definitely a chilly start to the day, with lots of patchy ice out there, so heads-up, caution advised as you're traveling around. it will be that cold again tomorrow. but the precipitation is winding down and we'll take a look at all of that for you, coming up a little later. >>> meantime, a winter weather advisory remains in effect until 10:00 this morning down in the santa cruz mountains. a few inches accumulated in the area last night. among highway 17, a thin layer of powder near the summitt. snow plows are standing by and some snow seekers were anxiously waiting for falling flakes. one woman drove up from san jose to experience snow

a couple of times during the year, snow at very low levels, from the mount vaca cam at 3,000 feet, you can see the snow coming down there and making the trees look awfully pretty outside. more of that in the coming days, and could get very low toward the end of the week, and still winter weather advisories in the bay area and that doesn't happen all the time and the east bay hills and the diablo raise and the santa cruz mountains, 2-3 inches of snow above 2,000 feet and you could actually see some snowflakes further south of that. even lower. with that in mind, be careful out on the roadways tonight. and of course we got to worry about black isolate tonight and early tomorrow morning. high def doppler picking up on the moisture and some of it is wrapping around. the low is located just about off the coastline right here. it is wrapping back from the bay back to san francisco. if you're headed to the parade, be prepared. bring the umbrella and a thick jacket. showers and cold temperatures on tap for you. showers continuing in toward san jose. and also millipitas. we're expecting some mo

but mount vaca cam looking good. you got mostly clear skies. chilly in spots.ome numbers around freezing. cooler start to the day around the bay area and patchy fog at the coast. by the afternoon looking good. just mostly sunny skies in the interior valleys temperatures in the mid-60s in the warmer spots. looking at upper 50s to low 60s inside the bay and toward the coastline you have that patchy fog and cooler numbers into the 50s. still, high pressure breaking down just a little bit today. rather weakening, not truly breaking down but you see some of that fog beginning to develop along the coast. that will help to bring down the temperatures around the bay area just a bit. but that high pressure system remains in place. and as we get in toward tomorrow, it looks like it's going to start to break again. then the temperatures will heat up around the bay area. 70s as early as tomorrow afternoon in parts of the bay area. numbers this afternoon though looking like mainly in the mid- 60s in toward morgan hill. 59 half moon bay. east bay 50s and 60s. north bay mostl

blue skies across the city today, as we see from the mount vaca cam, more of the same. a bit of haze and fog looking back to the central valley here. we see that will burn off through the day. i think we'll hang on to the hazy conditions. above that, just high, thin clouds across the area. lots of sunshine and temperatures for the warmer locations pushing the mid to upper 70s here today, which could set a few records out there. we'll look for sunny and warm back to the bay, mid to low 70s there. at the beach, looks like mid- 60s today. high pressure system entrenched across the coast, weakening. only a day or two left of this pattern, which has been in place basically since the beginning of the year. you see the storm track going by to our north, starting to inch south here, moving into northern california by tomorrow, bringing with it a change in this weather pattern. now, the first several waves of moisture to push through this high pressure system will probably shred, as they come in. so i wouldn't look for a lot of rain out of the first one on monday, but progressiv

and at the surface, there as we look at the mount vaca cam, pretty gusty up there as the cameras are jumping around and again, we have already seen some reports around mount diablo, of up to 40 to 50 mile- an-hour winds this morning and that is expected to continue with a wind advisory in effect, to the north and east bay hills, and the diablo rage, and the santa cruz mountains. really kicking in to effect by 4:00 this afternoon. until 10:00 a.m. tomorrow. and northerly winds 25 to 35 gusting 45 to 50. that is already validated. i think we can count on gusty conditions at the mountain top level here through the weekend. which will aide to keep skies clear to blow out any patchy low clouds that might form out there. and we will look for sunshine, and friction nal warming in the atmosphere, as the air will be sinking for the most part. that is resulting in near record highs around the area as we see mid to low 70s across the area. sunny and warm at the bay. upper 60s to mid-60s range there, and back to the beach and some of the mid to low 60s likely to prevail. and these may be actuall
