the sighting happened in vacaville. it's a popular rest stop for folks headed from the sierra. >> reporter: this is the area that the mountain lion was seen. one thing about vacaville is there's a lot of rest areas like these that are populated ones. there were tense moments when vacaville officers and game wardens searched this area. a man reported seeing a mountain lion next to the wild wings. after an extensive search. fish and game warden say they did not find any evidence of a mountain lions in the area and they say they don't know if the sighting was of the same mountain lion seen earlier at an elementary school about a mile away. >> our main concern was being close to the school in case that someone was confronted or even saw a mountain lion. next thing you know we were called that it was a mile away. >> reporter: the mountain lion was seen resting by the school. they asked school officials to lock down the school and keep children inside. after searching for hours, authorities determined the areas near the resta

this is the scene from vacaville and i want to share with you and take it all in because, yesterday athis hour we were enduring rain. we could not see the sunset, which officially was at 6:38. santa rosa was 14 degrees warmer than yesterday at 78 degrees so we bumped up our numbers today and right now, we are at 67 degrees in san francisco after a high today of 70. and we're still in the 70s at this 6:00 hour approaching 7 p.m. three things you need to know about tomorrow. first of all, tonight, we have a full moon. tomorrow sunny and warmer. and oh, please be very mindful we have high surf developing for all west-facing beaches. this means some dangerous rip occurrence, as well. so mavericks will be the recipient of swells up to 13 feet. and occasionally we'll have those sneaker waves so in case you're walking along the beach, again, never turn your back on an angry ocean. we have the clearing of the skies right now, finger of fog next to the golden gate bridge is going away overnight. again those swells building because of some storminess over the pacific ocean. that will try to cree
