we sent nbc bay area's thom jensen to the neighborhood in vacaville to check it out.his was quite an ordeal. over the past five days. this little tomcat was stuck way up in this tree up there, letting everybody know night and day with his cries that he wanted down. and there were plenty of people meowing about it on social media wanting to help. the cat was at least 35ft up in the tree after being chased there by a neighbor's dog. since last saturday afternoon, early afternoon, just crying for help. meowing. yeah, it's been up there. just trapped. the cat that rhonda named whitey is one of about a dozen or so feral cats living in this vacaville apartment complex. whitey had recently been mauled by a dog and just started to recover before he went up the tall tree, and then began crying day and night for five days. my son was the first one over here with a 20 foot ladder, and we couldn't quite reach it. it was ten more feet above him. local firefighters couldn't get up that high because their ladder truck was down, so tenants hired this tree trimmer to give it a try to

aside from the delta vacaville and fairfield, pretty breezy up there up in solano county., here's a little bit of bad news. unfortunately, that first low is exiting the region. so things will relax temporarily this weekend. but next week, another low dives in right past u.s. positioning of this low in this high-pressure ridge to the west is likely to result in more offshore. wind's picking back up as we move into the start of next week, which is the last thing anybody wants to hear in regards to the fire threat ahead of us. so that is something we're going to be staying very tuned into making sure we're keeping you aware of that potential even right here in the bay. as you can see, our daytime highs today are well above average for this time of year. i mean, we're talking upper 60's and san francisco and low 70's for spots like san jose and santa clara getting up to 71 potentially some record-breaking days ahead of us, especially today as we do so many solo, those low 70's san leandro right at 70 degrees conquered at 69 youngsville and 72 fairfield at 71 today. well, santa
