we were happy on valencia. having bun almost through it we are in the final round, the last part of the race. the homestretch. we are in the homestretch. this is very, very complex. as an example right now the way it is orchestrated for the street closure the fire department is requiring that both ends of the street be staffed the entire time this is happening. the city is not helping with the staffing. it is left to the merchants to be fully staffed. the small businesses can barely staff our own staff. do we need to make it this complex and difficult to do this? if it is a short term pilot thing. what i will say with the extension of the health orders rendering indoor dining pushed out indefinitely. we don't really know, and other forms of indoor business, maybe indoor retail will be closed. our outdoor spaces are overnight become much, much more value automobile. we are running out of bones to throw at small businesses. right now the space outside is one of the few bones left. we need to help the small busine

is 333 valencia. i agree with greg. i think this is a superior solution to their current home and also serves the departments quite well. the slide that you have in front of you is meant to convey two things. one, the deal points for the current deal which you will see on your right. and second, the pre-covid negotiating position that you will see on your left. consistent with the direction that we received from the board of supervisors, we have endeavored to negotiate 15% reduction in costs for any leases post covid. and we were successful in doing that in this case. pre-covid, you see the term has not changed. we're at initial term of 15 years with a 10-year option in both cases. the significant savings came and base rent. we're originally at $55 per square foot. we've negotiated down to $49.95 per square foot. originally, we were at one month's free rent and now we have six months of free rent, which basically means there will be no fiscal impact in the upcoming fiscal year. the original proposal was for one elevator
