>> i heard most of it with valerie jarrett who was an important advisor who had the president's ear on a lot of strategy in terms of how he shouldar position himself and what issues to move on first or to wait and simply the broader political strategy he didn't win because of her and her money that isn't the case he won in large part because of the sheer frustration built with theau gop with the status quo toward the end of the bush presidency and the excitement he generated from democrats and independents saw him as a new voice a different kind of voice in american politics to raise a lot of money like all candidates it didn't come from her. and i think that is the reason his presidency took place but what all presidents bring to the white house and people who try to guide them from washington. >> now the democratic line from new york. >> caller: i am confused i vote democrat but i'm confused on this district 18 in pennsylvania where to me and i may be wrong but the fellow who basically is a republican but only has a d next to his name i understand they want to fill seats in congress

missing valerie jarrett. she was president for a while. >> greg: oh! it's time for this.le diet news. as you know, i'm an expert on terrible diets. there is nothing worse than stuffed animals. let's take a look at this dog. a st. bernard. he had to go in for what they thought was cancer surgery. his name is mazie. 8 years old. they found it wasn't cancer. he'd been eating teddy bears. we all know teddy bears have lots of carbohydrates. they don't digest easily. i would say do not eat teddy bears, dog! >> jesse: that's how you lost weight. >> greg: i did. i stopped eating stuffed animals. i would just gorge. >> jesse: moving on. greg knows what it's like to make a joke people don't really like. an accent i felt kicker posed for a prom picture with his daughter and said this. wishing my beautiful daughter and her date at beautiful time. people got mad saying it was inappropriate. he had to apologize. the daughter and the date were in on the joke. if you believe you have to apologize. >> greg: you have to apologize for everything. sorry about that. >> katie: i went to arizon

you look at the last three presidents, obama had good structure but he also had comfort with valerie jarrett. george bush can good structure but he can good relationships. i think this structurally was the wrong process. i think he should have gone with comfort and then surround himself with those key advisors as opposed to putting someone he doesn't virtually know. if you notice, he does better with people that he's most comfortable with. he's able to be candid and speak, frankly, honestly with them. then they're able to carry out his mission. i just think structurally this was never going to work. now you have a guy like john kelly who was a fabulous american who served us, is now looking how to exit this way in a graceful manner, unlike what happened to mcmaster. >> you will the only person who's come on my broadcast -- i understand your logic here, big picture -- but saying that jared kushner should serve as his chief of staff. >> this is, of course, hindsight. this is talking at the beginning of the process. now obviously jared is much damaged so it is not necessarily jibing. but struct

i think she's referring to valerie jarrett. host: i'm not sure of her living situation at the moment. caller: well, she did move in with him right afterwards so they could carry on their destruction of the united states of america. but i just wanted to say why is there no interest in what john kennedy did 10 years before he became president or barack obama's promiscuous behavior before he became president? the was no interest in that at all. and all of a sudden, we're comparing trump with clinton. donald trump did not have any . pe of sex in the oval office that was a desecration of our house. and the should be no comparison. donald trump is trying to straighten this country out from the democrats who are trying to make this a liberal progressive socialistic country and it's the wrong direction. and i think it's pathetic that c-span chose this particular topic for the first thing on easter morning. thank you for listening to me. have a great day. host: a comment from twitter from robert this morning. morals didn't matter when b
