these are questions vallejo police will be looking into.ow police only learned about all of this last thursday and they will be interviewing students at the school as well as officials in the arch diocese. the students are accused of attacking students as part of a virtual before game day. the principal fired varsity coach chris before he reported the allegations to her. he is a former new york police officer and started as a coach and teacher here last august. they said some freshman football players admitted to him that varsity players -- varsity players removed their clothing and held them as they were assaulted. now they are asking why an assistant coach who knew about the allegations did nothing about it as well. but they say the principal changed his mind about it. they are not commenting and this is due to a potential lawsuit about his firing. they believe the coach did not get a fair shake here but ryan said there was a lack of supervision which leads them to believe he was not present when this hazing occurred. as far as getting an

i'm here at st patrick-st vincent high school in vallejo where the alledged hazing took place duringtball season this past fall. a spokesperson for the school says there were multiple incidents between members of the varsity and junior varsity players inside the locker room during unsupervised practices. the school got wind of it after the head coach overheard a student complain of the alleged abuse in mid december. he in turn reported what he heard to school officials who put the entire coaching staff on paid leave and suspended the alleged perpertrators of the abuse. after they concluded their investigation they decided to expell five players.for alledgedly abusing and bullying six underclassmen.and then contacted the vallejo police. the school would not go into detail about what actually happened during the hazing. the lieutant in charge of investigations for the department says they are waiting to hear from the kids involved before they launch an investigation.and so far no one has come forward so it's unclear if any criminal charges will come out of this. here at the school.four

a vallejo man is accused of killing his mother.then turning himself into police.dennis stanworth turned himself in wednesday.after confessing to the crime. tonight' we're learning more about his criminal history. police say this is not the first time he has killed. kron4's haaziq madyun has the story. >> reporter: this seven year-old man called 911. this 70 year-old man called 911 missing that is not the year-olthe 90 year-old-i believn 1996 he killed two young men girls and contra costa county. he was ultimately sent to death row and that sentenced was changed to life and he was out on parole. >> this is familiar because this condition of roll was registering as a sex offender. and >> somebody that commits a crime like that should have been put away for life not the possibility of parole. if this is our justice system that led him out on a technicality he should never been let out. >> reporter: as a registered sex offender he checked in with their department on a regular basis. >> he would come in and once per year and register. >> reporter: in vallejo, haazig ma

>>> the other big story, traffic is just getting back to normal in vallejo where a deadly big rig crash shut down a busy highway at the height of the morning commute. the big rig plunged off an overpass and then burst into flames. that's when some good samaritans jumped into action. nbc bay area's monte francis is live in vallejo where he just got an update from the highway patrol. monte, what can you tell us? >> reporter: good morning. westbound highway 37 reopened about 90 minutes and hazmat crews and firefighters are still here on the scene dealing with the aftermath of this crash. but take a look at some dramatic video that was taken just minutes after this crash occurred. you can see the big rig burst into flames after plunging from an on-ramp that connects the two highways. the big rig and a pick-up truck were involved in a xligs, sending the big rig over the guardrail. the big rig plunged to the ground. two witnesses and an off-duty paramedic were driving by and rushed to the big rig driver's aid. they were able to pull him from the burning big ri and one of the witnesses even ha
