this morning it is backed up big time in vallejo.e trying to get away this way going through sonoma and marin county. the latest crash is a motorcycle accident west 80 at pinole valley road. it could be because of the up even pavement so i hear from people who have ridden their bikes over it. but it could be for a variety of things. but one thing we know for sure is it is very slow from vallejo all the way down into richmond and also slow on 680 through walnut creek as people are avoiding 80. this is a big mess for the entire region of the commute. 80 westbound taking 44 minutes from the carquinez bridge to the mac maze. that could go up with the latest crash. this is a look at the bay bridge. it is backed up for 15 to 20 minutes. 880 traffic is beginning to slow down in oakland. and we do see traffic a little bit slow on northbound 880 out of union city getting up to hayward because of an earlier crash. over on the peninsula, we had a rather uneventful morning on 101 driving through san mateo and the belmont area. 280 is doing very

we have a new accident in vallejo blocking a couple of lanes.s is already beginning to back traffic up. this is pretty much one of the most heavy -- heavily traveled spots in vallejo. there is a crash again blocking a couple of lanes. it came in just a little while ago. you can see also traffic on 37th is busy getting out of the vallejo area heading over to sonoma and marin county. we talked about the macarthur maze a pose. between the carquinez bridge and amaze. and at the bay bridge toll plaza. it is backed up. we still have traffic on 880. this looks good into downtown oakland. san jose, we have standing water and a couple of the right lanes. southbound 280 before highway 87. they've opened up a couple of lanes here. it is still very much a problem and they say it's going to be there probably for the first -- for the rest of the morning commute anyway. and you can see it's already causing slow traffic in the area. there are the road sensors here. traffic is going to be backed up. one of the things that you can do is use 85 and 11 getting into

whatever the cause, west 80 near hercules is a mess all the way up into vallejo.his is a long backup you do not want to be in. if you want to perhaps consider using the ferry to get to san francisco, if that is where you are going, people are on 37. some people have been using 680 heading south. there was a minor crash on 680. they're moving that to the shoulder, but that is no picnic, either. the whole region will be slow. the drive time is more than an hour to drive this distance. just from the carquinez bridge to the maccarthur maze. usually it is about 25 to 30 minutes. we are more than double the time it takes to drive that. as a result, at the bay bridge, we don't have a full house. i think a lot of people are still stuck in traffic. if you are in the commute, ring patient and consider alternate routes. allow extra time. if you know a friend, wake them up and tell them they have to get going to get on the road early. some of the other commute or not out of the ordinary. the san mateo bridge looks good, so does the dunbar bridge. the south bay commute is not
