vallejo, i'm tara moriarty ktvu channel 2 news. happening today, the deadly shooting of andy lopez by a sheriff's deputy may prompt sonoma county to change the way it investigates officer involved shootings. ktvu's alex savidgeith the task force due to start taking shape later today. >> the sonoma county board of supervisors will begin appointing both members of the public and law enforcement to this new panel. it's a 21-member task force that will come up with an independent review process for officer involved shootings. this task force will consider various options including a citizen review board or an independent citizen auditor. under the current system, the district attorney looks at officer involved shootings and decides if a crime was committed, and then a grand jury reviews those findings. but there was outrage over the deadly shooting of andy lopez in october, and that prompted calls for change. investigators say sheriff's deputy alex gailhouse shot and killed the 13-year-old after mistaking the teenager's airsoft bb gun for a real ak- 47. the lopez family has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the deputy and the department. the santa rosa police department is still investigating the shoo
