live here in vallejo claudine wong. >>> this morning occupy oakland will lay out details of a mass day of action that includes a plan to set up a new plant. kraig debro joins us now. >> reporter: that new camp won't be at the plaza this morning. the deputies are making sure monday's evictions hold. there are a couple of people who are sitting on a park bench earlier but no tents here. it's unoccupied at the time. that will change later on today with the announcements. the announcing plans for a march and rally tomorrow and occupy oakland is looking for a vacant lot for their next encampment. on monday oakland police backed up law enforcement from all over the bay area. the city made it clear there would be no more camping but people with occupy the plaza at any time. the movement now has plan to occupy a vacant law nearby. the group says it wants to start a new encampment here at 19th and telegraph. it's not clear if this is city property or if it's in the process of being developed. police say they do have a plan in place right now to prevent any new encampment. the movement suffered

fire any moment but first new information was just released on the fatal shooting a vallejo police officer, claudine wong joins us now with the identity of the suspect. >> reporter: within the last hour police identified the man they believe is responsible for shooting and killing the officer. we want to show you a mug shot just given to us by the police department of henry albert smith, facing charges of bank robbery and murder. a man who made one last desperate escape attempt moments before being captured. >> it is just terrible. it was terrible. >> estear foster said police swarmed the neighborhood when her son spotted him. >> he looked across the street and there was this guy standing there but he didn't know who the guy was so he came into the house and locked the door and shortly later somebody was knocking on my door. >> it wasn't the police. >> s it it wasn't the police, oh, yeah, open the door, open the door, open the door, he sounded angry and desperate and police were here in moments. >> he was here and they were, they put the handcuffs on him and took him on in the car and took off. >> was he

ktvu's claudine wong joins us from vallejo.a growing memorial for the fallen officer? >> reporter: that's right, people coming to the doors of the police department to lay down flowers and candles and cards. that flower right there with the dog and candle just laid down by a man who tried to talk to us, but got so upset he just couldn't even make the words come out. people today trying to come to terms with the loss of officer jim capoot. he was a veteran officer described which many as a leader, a man dedicated to his job. this morning the deputy with the solano county sheriff's department came as well to offer a prayer before he tried to put his grief aside and go back to work. >> dedicated police officer, out there doing his job, helping the community. just came by to pay my respects. >> capoot was remembered as an officer and also remembered for his commitment to the community. he was a basketball coach, mentor at vallejo high school and this morning students are struggling to make sense of what happened. >> cared about him

claudine wong is in vallejo with more on the story and the search for another suspect. >> reporter: good morning, pam. we are at the vallejo police department. at the front of the door you can see the memorial that continues to grow. in the last hour we have seen one man that came here to pay his respects and take a moment. by the time he left he was clearly overwhelmed. the officer of jim capoot still has this community reeling. it all happened yesterday afternoon when the 19-year-old veteran responded to a bank robbery call. police say he was alone when hi caught the suspects car. he gave chase and found fatally shot in the backyard of a home. the neighborhood on the north side of vallejo was shut down overnight. she was not home at the time as her mother prepares to head back into the home she has lived in for 60 years, she is still struggling with what happened. >> not just an officer got killed, an officer got killed in front of her home. >> reporter: and an officer she knew. >> and an officer she knew. >> reporter: as the morning continues so does the investigation. one suspect is
