vallejo. now some homeowners say they're still suffering from a police chase that led to the death of an officer. today in the bay's christie smith is live in vallejo where some residents are suing the city. good morning, christie. >> reporter: good morning, laura. this was a really intense search. vallejo police had an officer down. they had a suspect on the loose. they didn't know where he was. now some homeowners are saying that the damage tied to that search was just a little too much. three of them have filed claims against the city asking for nearly $11,000. it was last november when veteran vallejo police officer jim capoot was shot. officers were looking for that suspect who they also believed just robbed a bank. capoot died from his injuries. the homeowners say s.w.a.t. teams broke fences and tore down blinds. one repair estimate, about $450, another about $700. our sister station contacted police in the city, but they said they couldn't speak on it while it was under review. a former sheriff said the risk outweighed the cost and the person already showed how dangerous they are. >> deal
