allie rasmus now in vallejo where this incident all began. allie. >> reporter: the starbucks off lincoln road west near interstate 80 is where the vallejo incident began, and this morning the starbucks here is open, you wouldn't be able to tell by the number of customers coming in and out that anything happened here. it was a different scene around 9:00 last night. that's when police say a man with an assault style weapon opened the door and pointed that weapon at them. the gun wasn't fired, though. police say the gun looked like it malfunctioned or jammed and police say the man took off running through a nearby residential neighborhood. the two officers chased him. he shot the man near magazine and sheridan streets. he was struck three time and went to the hospital with life- threatening injuries. police are supposed to talk more in detail about what happened at a press conference at 1030this morning. what's unusual is they're having this press conference with suisun city police. we don't know what the exact connection is. we do know yesterday afternoon in suisun city police
