it's what made the valley startups and also those that say the spirit of the valley is lost today because there are so many big companies. the way small-company started. in the 50s and 60s when the federal government was acting in all the ways i just described in the 1970s what started to happen was the valley realized. there were two key pieces of legislation that i won't go into in great depth. one was a capital gains tax cuts ancutand the other was a changen the law about who could invest in which pension funds were allowed to invest. and suddenly it was possible to invest in very high-risk companies and that was the capital that rushed into the valley was enormous. throughout this time it was seen as kind of the golden child of the golden state not only to the economy but national security it led to significant legislation and defensiveness against japanese imports. for the trials at the end of the '90s as a good example of how things start to shift, but by and large, silicon valley from dc. but now it's really different. the biggest companies are in the crosshairs. they see them as l

tonight, breezes taper enough, especially in our valleys. 20s, up in the north bay valleys. low 30s in our east bay valleys. freezing cold around redwood city as the cold air drains out of the mountains and into your neighborhoods around palo alto and menlo park also. here you go. either side of the santa clara valley. wet weather in the santa cruz mountains and the possibility of snow. going to keep an eye on some of those tower cams up on mt. hamilton once the sun comes up. see if necessity got a dusting or not. here's what will happen moving forward. 7:00, all is pretty clear. through the morning commute, starting at 9:00 to noon, that's when we'll start to see scattered showers develop. they'll linger through 4:00 and start to taper by 7:00, 8:00 once we lose the sunset. here's my accuweather seven-day forecast. once the sunsets, tomorrow 52 to 58. not quite as breezy. definitely brighter than today. there you go. a little warmer saturday and sunday as the storm track stays towards the sierra. is backs towards us and brings more chances of rain and snow monday and again
