the silicon valley education foundation came together with the hispanic foundation of silicon valleyeaf, another nonprofit organization in the santa clara county office of ed. and we all got together and decided how can we lift the latino community here in san jose? what is that going to take so that we have long lasting sustainable economic mobility for the students in east san jose? so we got together and the research is there on what needs to be done and put together an initiative and then sought funding and we were able to launch at the beginning of last year in january of 2023. this initiative is actually two-prong. the first prong is the short term funding for supplemental services that the school districts in east san jose cannot afford. the much more important prong is the long term funding solution that the state of california must address so that the students in east san jose can thrive, that they can become the workforce of silicon valley, and that we can secure an economically mobile future for them. damian: because right now, we're not guaranteeing that, right? right now

valleys of the east bay and trying to make its way into some of the inland valleys of the north bay. the only county in the bay area under this dense fog advisory is solano county. i think there will be impacts on the morning commute for the valleys in the north bay and east bay to begin the day tuesday. later in the day tuesday we'll be tracking the arrival of our next rainmaker, which is going to be fairly brief, shouldn't have too much impact. i think the bulk of it arrives after the tuesday rush hour, but it's going to be another quarter inch to half inch of rainfall. the dry break at best we'll see a mix of clouds and sun, but at least a couple of dry days before the wet weather settles in friday through the weekend. there is going to be plenty of fog to begin the day tuesday, even a couple sprinkles possible in the north bay. the bulk of shower chances don't really arrive for the north bay until early afternoon. we'll see rain chances move in across the rest of the bay area late afternoon, especially into the evening hours. this band of heavier rain is likely to make it across

as we zoom in into local communities, mill valley stretching down into sausalito.of the heaviest rain we've seen all morning has been falling for the past 30 minutes or so. as this storm continues to track off into the east and to the south too. san francisco, getting hit with moderate rain right now across the bay bridge a similar trend. so take it slow because this storm right here, it's continuing to move to the east. so near diablo and clayton into alamoment we're going to see those heavier cells build off there within the next 15, 20 minutes or so. now heading more south areas like fremont we're dry. only just about ten minutes ago but now starting to build up there. dry conditions in the santa clara valley but that's going to look different in the 8:00 hour with some of the heaviest rain moving close to fremont and san jose at that point. and at that point we're also seeing a half inch of rain already falling close to san francisco. we'll continue to watch this move off to the south as we head into this afternoon. i'll tell you how long it's going to last com

and there is going to be a frost advisory in effect for the highlighted inland valleys.ve got low to mid-30s on the map. isolated temperatures could see 20s into early thursday morning. those areas of frost means protect your pets, pipes and your plants. those lows will warm up into the 50s. and we talked about the king tides and you can see here on the wave height forecast, into wednesday, thursday, you can see the index shows 10-15 foot waves possible leading into friday. the reason for that coastal flood advisory remains in effect through thursday for tomorrow. be mindful of that for the entire coastline. long-range outlook let's talk with what is on deck. this is friday bs, the model runs showing this focused to the north. saturday it becomes more widespread bringing more sierra snow and those totals for the north bay above an inch and a half. today we saw a quarter of an inch of rain. not a big rainmaker out of this initial storm system that moved in. but we're going to continue to tally up the rain totals leading into the weekend. so far we can expect to see a dry
