we have 90s in the forecast near fremont, 90s down into the santa clara valley. it is a hot day for us today here in the bay area, but we do cool down fast as we creep closer to the weekend forecast right around the corner. we're talking about 70s in the forecast for san francisco, just in time for fleet week in san francisco. we're expecting 71 by friday. cloudy skies sticking around. and of course, the big thing that we want to keep a close eye on is how dense those clouds really are. will we get a good air show? are they going to have to fly above or below those clouds? we were just reading their website earlier this morning because i was curious how low can those clouds even get to where they cancel the show and it would be around 1000ft. the faa will allow down to 1000ft if we can get that much distance from the ground. so fingers crossed. right. and as we get closer, we'll be able to forecast that even better for the time being, though, it's still a couple of days away or actually more than that. we're about five days away right now we're expecting 80s this

down in the santa clara valley. heading out to the-49ers game.ain is the issue, bigger issue is the big cooldown. high temperatures only in the low 70s. by kickoff, upper 60s as those temperatures. you will need to grab a warmer jacket if you plan to head out to the-49ers game and again a layers day. as an area high pressure is the reason we are above average this afternoon. but that area of high pressure quickly departing by tomorrow and the storm system and this low-pressure system arrive by tomorrow afternoon bringing more cloud coverage and potential for rain and cooler temperatures that will stick around early next week and stay below average for at least the next six to ten days. looking at the seven-ten-day forecast. interesting to see how the temperatures cool down and level out. inland areas, upper 70s today. low 70s tomorrow. getting back to the upper 60s to low 70s by the early parts of next week and staying that way all next week. you are going to be officially feeling that fall chill in air all across the area with those microclimate

futurecast simulation of that fog shows a big push across the bay and into the interior valleys of the east bay, the santa clara valley, and the north bay early tomorrow morning. it's going to not take too long for that fog to dissipate, backing up towards the coast as we head towards midday. the fog spreads out again, but it'll retreat even faster on friday, backing all the way up to the coast as we head towards midday. and this is freezing the map at 3:00 friday afternoon. that's an important timeframe because it's the first blue angels show. at that point the fog is confined to the coast, just a little stripe of fog poking through the golden gate. i think visibilities are okay for the first air show. we'll keep you updated as we get closer to the end of the week. while we enjoy near normal temperatures, everybody tomorrow within three degrees on either side of average. 60s and 70s around the bay. only upper 60s in san francisco. it's a few degrees below normal for a change. and a mix of 70s and 80s for the north bay. temperatures aren't going to change dramatically as we look at the seven-day forecast.

this is our live weather camera looking out from monument peak out towards the santa clara valley. you can see the santa cruz mountain range in the background here, and we have several decks of clouds. just beautiful. these clouds are on the back end of the passage of the cold front. that did produce a little bit of rain showers around the bay area. currently we have temperatures from 59 in half moon bay to 68 degrees in fairfield. it's also just shy of 70 degrees in san jose. the winds are pretty flat to the north and to the east. oakland now picking up a breeze to 12. but take a look at the peninsula through the santa clara valley. winds are at 15 16mph. these winds will continue to blow until about sundown tonight. again, 611 now that smattering of precipitation across the bay area. a 10th here, a 10th there, but over an inch. and mount tamalpais in the north bay and the santa cruz mountains approaching a half an inch of rain. so we have system number one pass us. we have yet another one poised and positioned to bring us more rainfall by friday night into our saturday. and this n

temperatures dropping in the santa clara valley. temperatures will be about four to five degrees above normal. into the low to mid-80s there. mostly in the middle portions of the 80s. 86 in the warm spot and antioch and fairfield. we'll handle that after temperatures there about 106 degrees for several consecutive days. low to mid-60s along the coast. those numbers are normal for october night. and temperatures in the north bay, mostly in the 80s, a couple of spots as you go farther north sneaking up to 91 degrees for the high temperatures in healdsburg by tomorrow afternoon. as we look further down the line, the chance for showers in the north bay on saturday. it's not a real good chance, but hey, we're getting closer to the 50-50 mark, and north of the golden gate as they make their way down towards oakland. and into the santa clara valley, the rain chances will avoid you. despite that chance for rain, we are still looking at signs of the above average temperature pattern continuing in the long range data. temperatures in the 6 to

middle to upper 90s for the santa clara valley. 95 degrees in san jose. going to put us close to record territory. if falling just a little bit short. 95 is the record high, we will be 96. temperatures will back down, not over the weekend. flirting with record territory on friday and saturday. the game at 1:05, kickoff temperature will be in the upper 80s and the high in santa clara will be at or above 90 degrees in the afternoon. make sure you are prepared for that heat as we wait for relief to arrive. it will happen first along the coast. look at the seven-day forecast. coastal areas, going to be back closer to normal temperatures, then average, tuesday, wednesday, thursday around the bay. probably take one additional day for temperatures to return to average. already, closer by tuesday and wednesday, settling back down to 70 degrees by thursday. 30 degrees will be chilly. talking about the inland temperatures, they will bottom out around 80 degrees for our high, for our coolest high temperatures by a week from today. talking about seven more days of ex

unhealthy for much of the east bay, as well as santa clara valley. and if you can catch public transit and try to reduce our carbon emissions today we're headed for some really hot temperatures. today, dangerously hot. that may set a record in spots like santa rosa, where we're expecting a high of 104. the record is 101, set back in 2012, will be close to a record in san francisco. 97 would set a new record in oakland and in livermore 104. that would be also a new record and 100 today in san jose that would break that record set back in 1980. and mike, you're tracking a backup in the tri-valley. yes. 680 continues to be a tough drive south from the dublin interchange through pleasanton. the disabled vehicle and a couple of fender benders. one is still blocking the fast lane around sunol. so the sunol exit. so watch for that. drive south into the tri valley. 84th may see more traffic building as folks do see that they're going to avoid the dublin interchange. 880 is an option for folks from castro valley. they can head to the west, and it's not so bad

some 40s, though, especially santa clara valley, santa cruz mountains, also up in the north bay system is going to move in, but the key is going to be where, you know, where does it end up? you know, it's going to do this kind of a pattern. it's going to go over the lee side of the sierra, might give the sierra some snow. now, if it does this, if it goes into the high desert or the low forms or southern california, then, you know, we would have to a strong off shore event. if it does, this ends up maybe in nevada, not so much. most of the forecast models are dropping it into northern arizona and then also kick it out pretty fast. so it does not look like unless something really changes a strong off shore event. let's hope so. let's see if we can get through october with a strong one, but that one needs to be watched for friday. saturday i think after that it will be gone. maybe a little drizzle for us coming in wednesday night, thursday from that system. but look at the sierra a little bit more activity there. they're more in line in the highway if you will, for that system to clip the
