date for all of you for annual summit, which is going to be held on monday, june 5th at 49 south van ness. we will be announcing topics soon, but we would love, welcome any ideas that commissioners have. we will be having an initial staff call tomorrow and then bringing this to our executive working group next week with an outline of what we're proposing, so if you have ideas between now and then, this is a great time to submit those, via e-mail to us. you can just e-mail me directly. aside from those two items, i just wanted to provide legislative updates for you all. one is around our jam permit program. as you may be aware, the expiration date is coming right up. recent legislation impacts that transition from jam permits to brick-and-mortar permits, aka, jam to bam. as anticipated, our program will expire on march 31st and this is in line with the pandemic shared spaces program expiration, so this means that starting april 1st, we will no longer be issuing jam permits, so for temporary outdoor events taking place on april 1st and beyond, we have already been issuing and will continue

specifically looking at van ness brt challenges. and the other came out in april of 22. and looking for broadly at capitol project delivery. and so. initially we felt to combine the 2 sets of recommendations. we have in the course of conversation with city stake holders determined it might make sense to operate them out. as currently drafted it would do 2 things. first, thing, this is out of june 21 report, would be to amend the administrative code to cost criteria in award of construction management general contractor or cmg conrackets and allow for department discretion weighing cost and noncosts on a case by case basis. the advance nesz brt wagz lives an allowance of low are waiting threshold but i think the grand jury concluded and others confirms cost waiting for contracts is not the right way tong about them and should think about the value of the contract and the capacity of the contractor to deliver the thing we are asking for rather than in the front end of what may be a long project get cost estimates they have no religion to what may happen and do fighting abo

prior to the move to 49 south van ness, working off of paper sheets an ecdotal evidence, with permit center, especially with the queuing system we are able to have real data and real numbers to back up and make business decisions based on actual data. we are able to track the customers entire journey throughout the permit center and identify peak hours, bottlenecks and make business decisions. >> physically we center customer service by placing the customer service representatives at the front door of the building as customers enter and provide a warm greeting. the team has to be knowledgeable and a lot of difference type of services provided at the permit center and once they understand what the reason for the customer visit, then they can provide the journey to get their permitting. >> permitting prior to the permit center was spread out across a dozen permitting departments in 10 different buildings across the city. the calilous catalyst is colocate the functions in one building with the hope of accomplishing two things. to create a better more centralized cohesive customer experi
