several counties have had a decision made about their early voting schedule including vance and pierson counties. they will see changes to their schedule. it's happening in the first place because it goes back to a federal ruling that happened about a 2013 voting law that reduced early voting days and added restrictions to minorities. that's what the federal court has ruled. in some cases, county were able to make the changes and other counties didn't so at this point, it's up to the state election officials to make decisions day. the state board will have the chance to hear the proposed changes county officials offered and most times there are two plans -- one by the majority and the minority. the majority is usually the gop board members, and the minority usually the democrats. for voting activists. they said sunday voting is absolutely necessary and a crucial part of early voting. most of the board members don't oppose sunday voting but say it should only be kept if it was offered in the last election. one voter here at today's meeting does want to see early voting and offered for 17
