it is certainly winning out, and in terms of who is winning, it is vanguard this year with inflows, specificallythe s&p 500 total stock and total bond etf's. those are three of the four biggest in terms of inflows, the other being an ishares fund run by black that tracks the s&p 500. but when you put those two firms together with state street, you are talking about 80% of the assets in etf's, and at invesco and schwab, you are up to 90%. it is an area where money managers are getting in if they aren't in already. guy: you've got to hope that market stuff works when at some point the correction comes. let's talk a bit about cathie wood. last year, the flagship fund getting a massive surge. in terms of whatever looking at their now, this is a kind of yen and yang. you are getting positive news over there, but negative news over here. dave: that may be true, but they've had more than $15 billion of inflows this year, and there's been a real shift to the kind of active etf's that cathie wood runs. you look at the debuts this year , for the first time in 2021, you are going to have more active listed

some of them had been at the vanguard of apparent best practice at the start of the pandemic and hadrst wave. thailand, south korea, malaysia and japan have all reported the highest daily number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic. hospitals in malaysia are overwhelmed, turning away patients and the south korean prime minister has warned that the latest spike in covid infections there shows no sign of abating. there are also grave concerns in countries like indonesia and myanmar, also reporting high number of positive cases and shortages of oxygen. here's our south east asia correspondent, jonathan head on how it got so bad for these nations. there are three factors. one is simply the new variants. the delta variant has spread much faster than what they were doing with last year. last year, these countries managed to deal with covid through effectively basically very efficient contact tracing. when you have only got may be 40, 50 or 100 cases that most of the day, you can use that method but when you're getting thousands it simply doesn't work and there are too many contacts
