the water -- i know it's billed as the vanness b.r.t. project, but i want to make sure we're taking care of all the infrastructure on the street from building front to building front, so when we are done, there are there are new sidewalks, and they will be more reliable and less subject to failure. but i know the extent of this construction, two miles, replacing all of this sewer and pressure -- high pressured water for firefighting. right now, we have about half of the sewer work done, and we have been able to address some of the issues, and get ahead of the issues underground that have not been identified by the utility companies that were slowing us down. having gotten ahead of those, the pace of the work is increasing, and we continue to work with the contractor and bring our own resources onto the project to try to continue to accelerate work. right now, the schedule is to have service up and running in 2021. we are working our hardest to try to bring that schedule back and recover some of the time that we lost. we are providing sup

they may not realize that b.r.t. vanness is not going to allow them to take a lane, they had to move a bus stop, so we do completely hear the frustration. it's really that mr. klipp is speaking for all the advocates in the city. our base in lieu fee if we have not investigated the tree, is not much. it's $2,031 per tree. because we evaluated the trees as part of the application, we were able to review the photos and conduct an appraised value. so instead of $4,062 total, the appraised value of both trees came out to $10,150. that was a fine that our administrative penalties allow us to issue and and that was the fine that was issued. the applicant of 60 days to appeal the fine. the fine was issued on december 18. and they have until february 18 to appeal the fine. so far, they have not filed an appeal, but i will be following up with the applicant. if that fine is appealed, that's another opportunity for the public to be involved with that. i do believe the urban forestry council's considering an order that the department up

all of the commissioners who have districts that border vanness, i've heard those concerns, and we want to get in front of them relative to geary b.r.t. impacts. so as we know, the part of the eraf discussion relative to the m.t.a. -- and i want to thank supervisor safai who pushed that $5 million for mitigation funding for relief. in light of that and our discussion, what i would like to do is ask our t.a. staff to analyze and present policy recommendations, and they can do that in conjunction with the sfmta and other agencies, including our department of public works as to how this fund ought to be administered, what the eligibility criteria should be or would be, how small businesses can effectively be built into the oversigh oversight. and also speaking of oversight and structuring the fund, i am looking forward to hearing the final recommendations from our c.t.a. staff as it relates to oversight and restructuring and delivery of the caltrain retail extension, something that took on a whole new shade as the govern governor announced about an hour ago it doesn't appear this administration is going to support high speed rail from l
