the rally started about an hour ago and in that time we watched hundreds of people pour in from various unions and labor activists here. i'll show you the scene behind me as they are rallying on the uc berkeley campus and as you mentioned the fight for 15 is an effort to get the minimum wage increase and typically when we talk about minimum wage stories we're talking restaurant workers, but this fight for 15 also includes child care workers, cashiers and many more low-wage workers. the other component of their fight is unionizing and i'm joined by one of the organizers, mary kay with sciu. what kind of difference would unionizing make for the folks behind me. >> workers need a seat at the table with multinational corporations like mcdonald's and walmart in order to make sure they have schedules and hours when they raise their wages and a good job is if they can negotiate over skedchedules and get pay for sick time and they can fight for retirement and health care for everyone in this country and that's why we're so proud to get the union. >> thank you, mary kay. it's a complicated component. i

union has proposed for the 22 days in june. i think it's really important as public officials that we experience various types of transportation so that we all know first hand what our constituents are dealing with in trying to get around. muni is my primary way of getting around. and so, the point is i don't think it will be that hard. but i am going to try to step it up and try some lines that i haven't road in the past. i have rode a lot of them, but i'm* going to try to identify a few other ones so i can see what it's like for the lines that i haven't rode. i'm lucky i live in the castro. we have really strong transit access. so it's important to try some of the lines that are a little bit more challenging. professor cohen i do ride the t so i do understand the trials and tribulations of that line. but i know the t is not the only line that struggles. >> thank you supervisor wiener. supervisor kim. >> since we're all announcing our commitment, i also let the group know i will be participating. however, i'm challenged in the sense i live very close to city hall. so it would actually be very hard for me to take muni versus n
