i'm ed henry in vegas. president obama was here with a big rally. 9,000 people here in las vegas for embattled senator harry reid. so much as stake. one of the premiere senate battles. fact of the matter, who wins this, sharron angle, tea party favorite, could determine the control of the senate next year. there's also a lot on the line for the president. harry reid has been one of his chiefless on capitol hill. helped pass health care reform, wall street reform. a lot on the line, a lot at stake for sure. a little new information, breaking political news. i spoke to two senior democrat sources this morning telling me senator reid's private internal phone numbers have him up six points in this race contradicting the public polling that has it at a dead heat. a caveat these phone numbers change a lot. just spoke to a top republican source who insists their number dos not back that up. they believe it is a dead heat. that this is stig a struggle. it's going down to the wire, just ten days to go. i had an inte

las vegas has adopted a drought tolerant ordinance. we're using less water today than we used five years ago, despite over 300,000 new residents. i think it's a pretty amazing example as to how a town can really turn on a dime if there's the political will and if the public gets behind it. narrator: even the casinos and resorts have adapted to efficient water use. mulroy: the las vegas strip uses only 3% of all the water that we deliver. and when you think about it, it's the largest economic driver in the state, the largest employer, bar none. they knew they had to go the extra mile. and they've embraced conservation. and it's almost beyond belief that they're right now in the process of building another 15,000 rooms. southern nevada recycles 100% of its wastewater. so for every gallon we put back in the colorado, we can take an additional gallon out, or we send it to reuse facilities. and we deliver it to golf courses and parks and other outside applications. man: water's about a third of our budget. that's a lot of money. the lake ri
